I first knew Mary Jane Mansfield as the bass player in the Duck Kicking Vultures. Now she's a multimedia artist with an eclectic style. She describes her work as ranging "from whimsical and lighthearted to sometimes serious reflections on family, life, love, desire and dreams. The flow of energy in life, whether physical or metaphysical, is a common thread in her work." Once she let me run one of her installations icalled the Transparent Spirit Elevation Chamber. These two small drawings above are what she calls her Blueprints. She's using that style in a 40 foot mural for the MSP Airport.
Mary Jane is also one of the most genuinely warmhearted people in town.
