Daisy Edith Hess (1878 - 1975) was my grandmother. I inherited 2 other paintings of hers, which look like perfect reproductions of calendar art: two lions by the ocean, a mountain and a lake. This looks like something different. She lived in the Midwest so this could be something she actually saw. Strong elements of horizontal composition here.
